What is Swarm Technology?
The idea of Swarm technology is to combine the knowledge of computers with the knowledge and opinions of humans to produce accurate predictions. As most people will agree the more people’s opinions you put together the more accurate result you will have.
However, one key feature of swarm is that it does not take just your first opinion into consideration. Let’s use the example of a group of friends trying to decide what movie to watch. Now you may have a selection of 5 movies let’s say 2 people vote for one movie and the other 3 each vote for a separate movie. While most people would think that fact 2 people said that movie that that would be the best conclusion. However, they would be wrong.
What could happen is that one of the 3 said They would watch anything but that movie. There may be 3 people that agree on their second-choice movie or maybe they all agree on the third. The idea is that it is not always at face value and from what may seem as the most popular and most relevant answer may in fact not be.
With Swarm technology it combines not just personal opinions but uses computer knowledge to decipher and work out the most accurate all-round answer.
Swarm Technology can be used in many different areas. It can be used to help with small problems such as ‘what movie to watch’ or ‘what lunch you should get’. It can also be helpful to business as it can help predict what strategies will be most beneficial to the business. You could give it 5 different scenarios and it would predict which one would perform the best.

Who are Unanimous AI?
Unanimous AI is an American technology company that are known for their Swarm platform. It was founded by Louis Rosenberg in 2014.One prediction the Unanimous AI company predicts is the Oscars.

How accurate are their predictions?
The best way to see how accurate their predictions are is to look at the last few years predictions of the Oscars and how accurate they have been. They have an average percent of 90% accuracy on their predictions. In 2019 they got a huge 94% accuracy with only one prediction wrong. If we look at 2022:
“Swarm AI got 13 out of 16 categories right, with the incorrect answers being best picture, best original screenplay and best adapted screenplay. That gives it a score of 81% accuracy.”
While they did only get an 81% accuracy that was roughly the same percentage movie experts got. Therefore, while using this technology and data is not 100% accurate. With Swarm Technology you can get pretty close with a high chance of receiving the best advice.
However, even Swarm Technology can’t predict some aspects of human behaviour. They failed to predict the Will Smith and Christ Rock incident. Then again I don’t think anyone could have predicted that.
