Start-Up destroyed by Brutally Honest YouTube from Cody Crouch

The crowdfunding business, Konoa, promised $300 in-ear wireless headphones with a charging case and ambient sound reducing technology.  In 2015 the site successfully raised initial funding from a crowdfunding campaign but after shipping the first production models this summer things went downhill fast. One of the first receivers of their new ‘state of the art’ headphones was You Tube reviewer and unboxer Cody Couch.

Rather than a traditional review testing out the features, instead Cody (You Tube Account iTwe4kz  ) decided to lay out his whole experience with the company and the products. Going through the flaws that he came upon at each stage of trying to test it. As bit by bit the product struggles to charge, sync and well.. just work properly.

His review is honest but in our opinion fair. When things really get interesting is when the company starts to ‘nudge’ his independent review.

“I know that you’re busy and your time is valuable, so if you can get a good review, or a good video, out by Sunday, we’ll give you $500.”

Things don’t exactly work out as they planned.

“This is trash. You don’t want to have these. This is not a company that you want to deal with.”
