4 ideas to support local businesses during Covid-19

We’re currently living through quite extraordinary times and here at WiserWebsites.com we know that a lot of you are anxious and worried right now and concerned about their community. If you want to support local pubs, restaurants shops and other local businesses we have put together a few ideas of how you can support businesses at this time.

These are very uncertain times but there are small things that we can all still do to help our economy. We’ve put together some tips on how you can help support your favourite businesses safely and responsibly whether that be your local cafe or your dearest department store.

Buy a gift voucher to spend later

Many local and smaller businesses are worried about how they’ll weather the storm.

One easy way to continue to support them is to buy a gift card or gift voucher. If they don’t appear to offer this as an option, then drop them a message on social media and see if this is something they would be open to.

They’ll appreciate the cash and you’ll have something to look forward to when everything is back to normal.

Pay for future appointments

Beauty and hair appointments are another thing we’ve inevitably taken for granted in the past. Rather than trying your luck as Edward Scissorhands, why not contact your barber or nail technician and ask them if they’re accepting payment for future treatments.

Many of these people are self-employed and will appreciate the offer and they may already be offering this service. What’s more these business are likely to be INCREDIBLY busy when services re open so it would be a good way to get to the front of the que!

Order from your local takeaway, pub or cafe

Did you know that a lot of local food businesses are still open and even if they didn’t before many are now offering takeaway options. That means you can still get your favourite foods from your local takeaway or cafe safely.

NHS staff can also get 25% off their orders at Just Eat, so make sure you check that out if you are one of the army of hard working NHS workers.

Leave a review

You may not be able to support your favourite businesses financially but a positive review can go a long way too.

With many businesses having to close their doors, some positive words from you through social media or Review.io could give businesses a morale boost in the short term, and will also put them in good stead when they are able to reopen to the public and trade again.
